Smoke Breaks 3DMark06 World Record During OC Summit in Moscow

Russia’s OC master, known simply as Smoke, has just submitted a new World Record score for 3DMark06, hitting an all new high score of 64,607 marks, pushing past the previous World Record of 64,280 marks held by Dancop. The score was submitted during a session of the OC Summit 2016, an OC event held in Moscow at the ASUS Rep office where Team Russia, which includes Smoke, 12, slamms, IceAlex and Atheros, were joined by special guest Xtreme Addict.

The new World Record was produced with using a Core i7 6700K pushed to a very impressive 6,590MHz which is a solid +64.75% beyond stock settings. Of course as 3DMark06 is also very GPU-centric, so it is we find that Smoke’s GTX 980 Ti card has the GPU pushed to 1,541MHz (+43.22% beyond stock) and the memory clock pushed nicely to 2,000MHz (+14.09%). All components were mounted on an ASUS Maximus VIII Extreme motherboard. A 1200W V-Series Cooler Master PSU was also in attendance. The new World Record earns 120 points for the 1x GPU Global 1st Place and 18.4 hardware points for 980 Ti Global 1st Place on 3DMark06.
