Alex@ro Takes 4x CPU GPUPI for CPU 1B Global 1st Place

Romanian overclocker Alex@ro just submitted a CPU GPUPI 1B score that earned him a x4 CPU first place Global Ranking on HWBOT. Alex@ro completed a run using a Skylake i7 6700K clocked at a whopping 6,620MHz, +65.50% beyond stock settings, to score 3min 56sec 825ms, gliding past the previous best score held by Dancop of 3mins 57sec 43ms.

In terms of the full rig used to make the record breaking run, Alex@ro’s 6700K was installed on a ASUS Maximus VIII Impact Mini-ITX motherboard with a GeForce GTX 980 Ti card at stock settings and a Seasonic 1,200W Platinum power supply. The CPU clock speed from Alex@ro for the winning score was pushed fractionally higher with 6,6200MHz compared with Dancop’s previous submission at 6,615.83MHz – which goes to show that a 0.1% higher clock can in fact have the desired effect on scoring.

The submission earns the Romanian No.1 107.4 global points for making the x4 CPU global ranking, plus 18.8 hardware points for the i7 6700K 1st place ranking in GPUPI for CPU 1B. This points haul leaves Alex@ro with 1696.50 points in total and ninth place in the Elite league on HWBOT.
