Lian Li Announces DK-04 Desk-Style PC Chassis

Lian-Li have come with a pretty interesting chassis design that pretty much resembles an office style desk. The idea has been done before by custom DIY PC designers, but this is the first time that a major chassis manufacturer has proposed selling such a design to Joe public. The DK-04 is height adjustable to 3.8 feet and has plenty of space inside for pretty any kind of custom PC build, including elaborate water cooling if that is your thing.

The surface is made of tempered glass which means you can see the workings of your rig while doing your work. The glass can lifted up so you can access the system’s innards while front panel also offers access to four USB 3.0 ports an optical disk drive and a dimmer switch so you can reign in the desk's built-in RGB LED lighting. The chassis also includes front and rear system fans which, if you are inclined to get some water cooling on the go, can be switched out for 120mm x 480mm radiators.

Other features include vibration-dampened drive storage with four rubber-isolated drive racks that allow the DK-04 to mount a total of eight 2.5" or 3.5" drives. The racks are easy to install and remove using thumbscrews. The height of the desk can be adjusted to become a standing desk if your spine has had enough of typical office posture, with the legs made of sturdy steel, designed to support up to 100kg.

The DK-04 will be available will be on sale from next month retailing for a princely sum of $1,500.
