Australia OC Team Enjoy Haswell / Skylake Grudgematch

The guys involved with the Australia OC Team on HWBOT recently organized an OC contest with the help of overclockers.com.au and GIGABYTE. Dubbed the ‘Gigabyte Haswell/Skylake GRUDGEMATCH Competition’, the contest revolved around Intel’s two most recent mainstream platforms going head to head - basically pitting Haswell CPUs against Skylake with two separate leaderboards. Successful overclockers would need to be proficient on both platforms to claim top spot and tasty GIGABYTE-sponsored prizes.

Three stages included XTU (single thread), 3DMark11 Physics(Performance), Geekbench (Haswell only) and Superpi 32m (Skylake only). GIGABYTE generously provided prizes including two motherboards, a Z170X-SOC FORCE LN2 for 1st place plus a Z170N-GAMING 5 for the runner up. Third place was awarded a BRIX GB-BACE-3000 mini barebones PC. Not bad at all.

The contest ran from January 29th until 22nd of February and attracted some of Australia’s brightest and best talent. Congrats to Chilli-Man who won the contest (on a technicality) with 28 points, equal with Headin2001 who has to make do with a runner up spot (although there was talk of having a CS:Source kife only fight to settle the tie). Robbo2 makes up the top three. Well done guys.
