Chi-Kui Lam Pushes i7 6700K to 7025.66MHz (+75.64%)

That man from Hong Kong is at it again, this time Chi-Kui Lam has pushed his i7 6700K to a massive to 7025.66MHz, making it the highest frequency for the Skylake top SKU yet recorded on HWBOT. The frequency is a very nice +75.64% beyond stock settings and was of course achieved using copious amounts of LN2 as well as an ASRock Z170M OC Formula board and G.SKILL Ripjaws 4 DDR4.

The new world record frequency edges out der8auer on 7007.85mhz. It’s also great to see PC Gaming media cover the news. Here’s a sample of what PC Gamer had to say about the submission:

“A couple of German overclockers, Der8auer and Dancop, came pretty close to that record recently using an Asus Maximus VIII Gene motherboard. They also impressively managed to increase the speed to over 7GHz, but fell just short of the record at 7007.85MHz, securing second place in the current rankings. This is the fastest speed for that specific motherboard and CPU combination however.”
