Following up on the success of last year’s Old School is Best School contest on OC-ESPORTS in 2015, we can now announce that the contest continues in 2016 with Round 1 running throughout the month of January. In case you’re unfamiliar with the concept, the OSiBS contest is an invitation for teams of overclockers around the world to dust off their old PC hardware and compete on some truly old school benchmarks. Each round is divided into two stages with specific hardware requirements and limitations with five, month-long rounds throughout the year.

In 2015 we saw the largely US-based Classicplatforms team take the first three rounds with relative ease so it will be interesting to see if they will again pose the biggest threat in 2016. The final two rounds of 2015 went to XTREME OC Team Bulgaria and the Belarus OC Team, two other teams that will also be worthy contenders this year. If you have the urge to either revisit or discover ancient hardware, the Old School is Best School contest is the one for you. Get involved and start pushing… Old school style!
