ASUS Maximus VIII Extreme Sub-Zero Overclocking Review by Ryan Leiserowitz

The US-based overclocker going by the handle TheGoat Eater is no stranger in the extreme overclocking community. Having competed in live competitions such as the MSI MOA in the past, he now spends his time writing articles for the die-hard overclockers. Two months ago Eteknix published his review of the GIGABYTE X99-SOC Champion and just a couple of days ago a new article popped up. This time 'round the review is about the ASUS Maximus VIII Extreme.

"Overall, the Maximus VIII Extreme is easily the best Z170 motherboard that I have used to date. I’m happy to say that I have loved using it to squeeze as much performance as I could from my 6700K CPUs. Unfortunately, I don’t haven’t had the greatest luck, as I only have some fairly standard performing 6700K CPUs, but with the motherboard’s ability to push the memory performance to such great levels, I was still able to make some good results overall. [...] Having tested this motherboard for a long time, I really have to say that this is one of my favorite boards to use of all time and using the it was a pure pleasure. You can definitely tell that a lot of time and effort was put into the creation of Maximus VIII Extreme. It also has the ability to run Windows XP, though it can be difficult to set up as a benchmarker, it is really a huge plus overall."
