When Wizerty turned everyone's attention to the Heaven DX11 1xGPU Global category with his near-GFP 7563-point run, both K|ngp|n and Splave fired up their respective GTX 980 Ti KPE systems in an attempt to surpass not only Wizerty but also Dancop, in search for 8000 points.

On September 5 Splave got close with a score of 7911.32 marks and the card clocked at 2070/2120 MHz. One day later, EVGA's in-house overclocker K|ngp|n breached through the 8K barrier in style and with 65 points to spare. He achieved this using a GeForce GTX 980 Ti clocked at 2115/2104 MHz, a Skylake Core i7 6700K at 6.1 GHz and a kit of G.SKILL Trident Z memory at 1863 MHz C17.
