For those who didn't know, the official NDA for the Z97 platform was actually the 11th of May. Although a lot of motherboards were reviewed and sold before this date, according to the original planning only on that day the performance of the Z97 platform could be unveiled. Traditionally the launch dates for new hardware come with a front page plastered with records. Time this around, it was no different.

A team formed by Vivi, Sofos1990, TeamAU and Steponz flew out to Taiwan to prepare for this mad record rampage. In one week they were able to smash 9 overclocking world records. That's impressive to say the least. Two days after the official unveiling of the Z97 chipset, the GIGABYTE Z97X-SOC Force holds a total of 13 global top-5 spots. Pretty solid.
