Based on the poll results in a forum thread concerning a discussion on how tied scores receive points, we have implemented an update to the point algorithm. From now on tied scores will receive equal points. Before the oldest submission would always score higher.

The update to the points algorithm has already been deployed on our UAT server for testing. It will be deployed to the production server in the next update. Note that we currently have not foreseen any code to search for ties and update the points. If you have a score tied with one which is receiving more points, please recalculate the submission in order to update the points.
