G.Skill Announces AEGIS Performance System Memory

G.Skill announced the AEGIS line of high-performance, standard-height DDR3 memory modules, for gaming PC builds. The modules are available with JEDEC-approved SPD profiles of DDR3-1333 MHz, and DDR3-1600 MHz; and in densities of up to 8 GB. The modules could make up solo, dual-channel, and quad-channel memory kits. The modules are designed to run at DDR3-1333 at voltages of 1.35V, and rather timings of 9-9-9-24; and DDR3-1600 at 1.50V, and rather loose timings of 11-11-11-28. The modules feature black PCBs with heatspreaders that are basically sheets of aluminium, with die-cast prints on them. Backed by lifetime warranties, the various G.Skill AEGIS kits will launch at sub-$100 price-points.

wow, 1333 CL9 and 1600 CL11 are truly some "high performance" mems :D

Christian Ney says:

There are no quad channel kits and no price point yet.

Moldova ZL1 says:

lol, if this is the way gskill is going, its just sad .. cl11 1600mhz aint even decent value ram, let alone perf

Canada Vinster says:

instead of focusing on 2-3 lines that are great/amazing it seems they are putting out a lot of crap out there... I have cheap ram that can do 1600 at 9-9-9-24.... though my voltages are 1.65v and not 1.5v.

Though most value ram you find can be undervolted with no problems. This seems like a fail line targeted at the gamers with no hardware knowledge.

Everything above says it all really. Performance RAM? Pfft. I've got budget RAM that does better.

Norway knopflerbruce says:

It's what you get these days, with only horrible ICs to choose from... I guess.

United States Fastvedub1 says:

Horrible timings wow.Nice low voltage and low profile but how can they call this high performance ram.Cmon G Skill your better than this.

And where is the triple channel for us x58 users.

no longer considered a viable option... x58 is still my main rig.. but in reality its 3 generations old.. and in tech years that's over 100 years old and long dead....

call it an upgrade path and get a quad channel kit and only use 3 sticks.
