EK Water Blocks Announces EK-SF3D Inflection Point EVO Evaporator

EK Water Blocks, Ljubljana based premium water cooling gear manufacturer, is proud to introduce EK-SF3D Inflection Point EVO, company's second product from the line of liquid nitrogen (LN2) evaporation coolers for competitive overclockers.

EK-SF3D Inflection Point EVO is a high performance universal CPU liquid nitrogen evaporation cooler, the result of a joint venture between Petri 'SF3D' Korhonen, legendary overclocker and extreme evaporation cooler designer from Finland, and EK design & engineering team. The product is made of electrolytic grade nickel plated copper in order to provide the necessary mass to even out the temperature fluctuation. Excellent weight to surface area ratio ensures confident controll over temperatures. Precise and rapid response at any working temperature is what this product is all about - even when cooling the hottest CPUs on the market. Top extension is made from black anodized high quality aluminium alloy.

The key feature that makes Inflection Point EVO evaporation cooler stand out from the pack is the new, socket specific revolutionary mounting system enclosure, making it easier for beginners to dive into the world of extreme overclocking while the veterans will surely appreciate the even clamping force.

EK-SF3D Inflection Point EVO key features:

  • Air-tight micro climate area inside the CPU evaporation cooler's hold-down enclosure
  • Perfect mount every time you install the evaporation cooler
  • Heating elements used to heat up the inside of the enclosure as well as the circuit board itself to keep the motherboard's VRM capacitors as warm as possible
  • Fast remount turn-around - it takes less than a minute to swap out a CPU - perfect for binning the best CPU
  • Improved contact surface fits Intel's concave IHS of the CPU pefectly thus further improving the performance of the unit
  • less insulation needed than with any other solution on the market.

Technical data:

  • Capacity: 230mL
  • Weight (empty): 1470g
  • Operational range: -196°C to +80°C

Enclosed:

  • EK-SF3D Inflection Point EVO
  • Acetal hand-grip mounting nut with pre-installed 10W thin-foil heater
  • Gelid GC-Extreme 3.5g thermal grease

The product is readily available for purchase through EK Webshop & Partner Reseller Network and comes with Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of 149.95€ incl. VAT. Each socket-specific mounting mechanism costs 39.95€ incl. VAT. At the moment only Intel LGA-115x variant is readily available for purchase while LGA-2011- and AMD variant will follow by mid June.

Cool! Finally hit the market. Looking forward to the first non-sampled end-users to give feedback on this one. The innovated mounting technique should be great for novice users!

A little disappointed by having to purchase different mounts for different systems - the old Inflection Point came with all mounting just like other LN2 cooler vendors. What I'd like to see is a single free upgrade for all buyers. In other words, as an owner of this pot you would get all the mounting for free once - if you want/need more, you gotta pay.

All in all, it is very nice to see innovation in this market. Well done!

Belgium skulstation says:

When can we buy the mounting for the socket 775?it's a nice id mm abaut free upgrade

Slovenia tiborrr says:

The mounting is SUPER expensive, hence the separate mountings. We will strive to make it cheaper but POM is one of the most expensive if not the most expensive plastics on the market.

On the upside you get: heaters, backplate & socket insulation as well as a nice manual :P

Belgium Massman says:

What will be the retail cost for, let's say, a LGA2011 mounting kit? Does it come with everything included or just the base and backplate? I overlooked the pricing estimate initially, but for the same amount of compatibility like the previous version we now have to pay €230 instead of €150. That's quite a lot more expensive :(.

Slovenia tiborrr says:

LGA-2011 and AMD will both be 39.95€. They will both come with heaters, socket insulation, backplate. You also have to consider machining time in EU is expensive, this is no Made in China/Taiwan/HK product. As far as I remember the original Inflection Point was 170€.

Belgium Massman says:

No worries, I understand the complexity and problems of the production side of things. I am just writing from a consumer point of view right now. I am not trying to say you are charging too much or so, I genuinely believe the production cost is just high. Thanks for the info!

United States l0ud_sil3nc3 says:

You guys can send me one cpu cooler 115X and one memory cooler:D

I have the original Inflection here, the Venom 6.66, and the OCN Marksman currently, all great pots for different things.

I benched the OG Inflection the other night after benching the Marksman with CL3P2O on the same cpu, and it seemed that Inflection was having a hard time holding temps under load. Funny thing is the Marksman had a poor mount and the Inflection was perfect upon tear down. Guess it is time to try the new one:p

I do miss the Gemini though, it's like driving a 1985 Coupe de Ville, a true big body slab lmao. Probably the best for SB-E and older stuff.

I paid more than that for a used one XD

is it not possible for them to make a universal mount like all the others?

Lost a lot of weight, she been on a diet?

Didn't know you had a marksman, did you pinch CL3p20's?

Slovenia tiborrr says:

She just lost unneeded weight. You know, the saggy bags below the armpits. The muscular torso remained in shape ;)

Germany der8auer says:

tiborrr can you tell the bottom diameter of the pot itself? The contact area I mean.

Slovenia tiborrr says:

27.5mm IIRC. I am not behind a computer at the moment.

Bingo, it is has been here for a few days and I really like it.

It holds very well and it seems almost as fast as the Venom.

I am wondering the same, will there be a 775 socket bracket available? is it in the plans at all?

At this price, I would rather buy the old one.

you are doing it front, you can find that information when you sit in front of it :D

Cool man, glad to hear it :)

230 euro?..ouch..very ouch..

I think I think with my current pots..

maybe in the future when the price goes down to something more wallet friendly..

Slovenia tiborrr says:

Quick run on the LGA-1155 platform. Had some coldbug problems at -185°C initially but solved that with some BIOS tweaks. Therefore we had to hold the temperature at -180°C which was no problem for this pot. The surface area to mass ratio is balanced out well.

Our EK-Thermocouple Type-K probes are great, dipped in LN2 they show -196 to ~ -197°C (depends on how well your thermometer is calibrated). We will start selling these in by mid June.
