Team Cup 2013 Update - Final prize list, CatZilla stage cancelled, (almost) 100 teams and more!

The last time we updated you on the standings of the HWBOT Team Cup 2013, is already quite some time ago. Today, we're bringing a short re-cap of the news regarding the Team Cup. First up on the agenda is the finalization of the prize list. Our competition partner Cooler Master has brought in ADATA to provide 2x XPG SX900 SSDs for the stage winners and runner-ups in the fourth sub-competition. With ADATA chiming in, we now have a complete prize list for this year's Cup. You can find an overview of the prizes on each sub-competition page as well as at the bottom of this news post.

With regards to the fourth sub-competition, "live performance", we want to inform you that the CatZilla stage has been cancelled. With less than one month to go in the Cup, the benchmark has not yet reached its final release as we are currently working with beta version twenty-four. For the live performance aspect of the Cup, you can still go for the CPU-Z CPU Frequency or the Aquamark3 stages! As it seems, the points for a live performance are still widely available as so far no one has done any live benching for the Team Cup. C'mon lads, spread the word!

On a more positive note, we would like to put your attention to the participation rate of this Team Cup. We are closing in on the mark of 100 participating teams! We still need six more teams to start competing to actually hit that big mark, but with already 30 teams more than last year's edition, we cannot be else than very pleased with the turn-out! In case you were wondering: yes, the amount of participants is also higher than last year. Oh, and we're only sixteen submissions away from hitting the big K-mark for scores as well!

In light of the great news regarding the attendance of the Team Cup, we also want to announce that so far the Cup has seen 35 new hardware class records. Perhaps not such an impressive number, but knowing only one of the four stages is ideal for setting new class records - the others are too hardware limited - that's pretty good. The most prestigious one, assuming hardware points define the level of difficulty of a record, is TerraRaptor's Pentium 3 1.0Ghz EB s370 SuperPI 1M record. This score yields the Kazakh 20.4 points as he holds of 103 other overclockers in that category. Nicely done! In the coming weeks, we'll have a closer look at the top scores in the various competition categories to find those little gems. Stay tuned!
