On January 19, the Brazilian OC scene is getting ready for what will undoubtly be the overclocking competition of the year in Brazil. After a month of online qualifications, a contest featuring over 100 hardware classes and 8 stages, the 10 best overclockers will battle for the title of Brazilian OC Champion of 2013. Even though the competition will be live, X5 (a computer store in Brazil) will provide a livestream feed. So, everyone around the world will be able to enjoy the competition.

The schedule:

• 10:00-10:30: Presentation
• 10:30-11:00: Home, preparation and testing of equipment
• 11:00-14:30: First stage (race enthusiast)
• 14:30-15:30: Evaluation of results and definition of finalists
• 15:30-16:00: Final Stage - preparation and testing
• 16:00-20:00: Final Stage (extreme competition)
• 20:00-21:00: Proclamation of champions and prize-giving party

The competition is quite different from what live overclocking competitions have been so far, featuring an enthusiast (read: ambient cooling) and an extreme stage. In the first part of the competition, the ten overclockers each get assigned a system through lucky draw. The participants can then tune the systems as they please, but cannot change the cooling (Corsair H100i) unit. The top-4 will continue to the next round, in which those same systems can be cooled with extreme cooling. The idea is to show regular users what can be done with both normal cooling and extreme cooling. Interesting approach!

The prize for the winner is BRL $3500, which is about USD $1700 or EUR €1300. Not bad!
