In an email directed to what I assume includes all the major media channels, Futuremark has informed us that the upcoming 3DMark for Windows is postponed until January 2013 - next month (or never if you think the world ends on December 21). Originally, the benchmark was supposed to launch early December, one year after the 3DMark11 launch which ironically was the also postponed date of the 3DMark11. 3DMark11 was originally planned for November 2011, in case you don't remember. Oh well, everything in the name of "benchmark quality" as Futuremark writes in the email.

The Android, iOS and Windows RT versions will apparently follow soon after, and I quote, "pending further testing and app store approval"s. Especially the latter could be an interesting challenge for iOS as Apple never really liked benchmarks comparing their products to competitors.
