I love the orange scheme......

Going to bench it today.. haha mass...

United States Hondacity says:

awesome question!!!

mini itx version :D

massman FTW!

United States Minor Outlying Islands Kal-EL says:

The excitement being generated about this board is quite contagious. I will for sure be buying a board to test drive. I hope Gigabyte continues this trend in SandyBridge and upcoming platforms and that they are able to come to market sooner than later.

Enjoyed the interview :)

Belgium Massman says:

Yeah. Bit annoying that they are forced to look at the sales to justify more boards ... darn it! Surely, Cookie is already thinking about next-gen platforms for this OC board :p

TaPaKaH says:

yaay, more talking

Belgium Teemto says:

Who the hell is that guy on the right ;-)

Australia Dinos22 says:

massman gained a bit of weight, lucky summer is on the way so he can get cut up again :D

Taiwan Tim Handley says:

@Massman: Motherboards don't kill CPUs; people kill CPus!

Yes. I want that same athletic body like you, muscleman!

Greece TASOS says:

Looks like a great board ... but ... too late.

I hope they will keep this concept's idea for more fresh boards and future products.

As for the colors used ...

DFI simply "OWNS" black pcb with orange , green and yellow parts.

United States G H Z says:

Colin!

United States Splave says:

Hmm Idk if its a great idea to split a niche market into 2 smaller niche markets, cant be good for business :X I hope that its a home run naturally, I just dont think it will be

Belgium Massman says:

Depends on how you look at the markets. The gaming market will slowly die off, the overclocking market will move away before that happens.

What do you mean "move away"?

Belgium Massman says:

Hardware vendors have placed overclockers in the same group as hardcore gamers, but that was nothing more than an arbitrary decision. Overclockers are, product-wise, closer to the server market than they are to the entertainment market. Will publish an editorial on this soon. Six pages only, could write a book :p By 'move away' I mean that over time, the boards overclockers use will look less and less like normal end-user consumer mainboards. The normal consumer will most likely evolve to small form-factor products. Possibly smartphones will, over time, become so powerful they will suit the needs of 95% of the gamers.

Belgium Teemto says:

Provided that you can connect that smartphone to a big screen and you can connect a keyboard and mouse to it.

Belgium Massman says:

I don't see how that wouldn't be possible :).

Denmark M.Beier says:

I had a few suggestions, or opinions rather on this product.... All were "no, because" blahblah, and "justified", however, I asked monster cookie yesterday about a few things, and funny thing is he confirmed "I already thought of that".. If this becomes a success, which I really really hope for! Then hopefully they will have faith in him for things such as no SATA3, socket BIOS.
But really this product is 100% Chuck Norris approved!!!

I dont really care if I get a sample or not anymore, I will buy it if I dont get it - it is surely a MUST have.... The product is AWESOME!
Only "buhu" whine about it, is MINIMAL things to cut price just those last 3-5 USD = Dont care :)

Once again MASSIVE thumbs up!
I LOVE the fact that Gigabyte this time takes the leap and becomes the FIRST to do something massively positive.

United States Minor Outlying Islands Kal-EL says:

lol, u guys and your samples.

I'd rather pc game than handheld or console game 100% of the time.

Belgium Massman says:

What if your console would have a keyboard and mouse?

United States G H Z says:

I don't care what's it's hooked to as long as it has a decent screen and familiar controls. GBT focus is maybe six months with this board or until sb-E arrives, and it seems pretty clear they're going in the opposite direction of UD9. This board should outsell it by a wide margin.

Isn't that just another step back towards being a pc?

You're right. It's exactly my point :).

(PC) Gamers are part of the entertainment group. Overclockers are part of the technical group. The former will slowly start merging with, for instance, console gaming and smartphones (smaller = better), whereas the latter will move towards those other technical groups, like server where high quality and high stability are more important than over-integration of features or small form factors.

The point I try to make is that overclockers are not a niche part of the gaming community. We are a niche part of the server community.
