Finalists named for the AOOC 2013 overclocking tournament

Moscow, Russia (15 May, 2013) — ASUS sums up the qualification results for ASUS Open Overclocking Cup 2013.

ASUS Open Overclocking Cup 2013 – Major Overclocking Tournament in Europe

Established in 2012, ASUS Open Overclocking Cup was a local event at first, contended for by the best overclockers of Russia and Ukraine. In 2013 the Cup’s scope has expanded to include enthusiasts from Europe and CIS countries. The best 13 teams will challenge each other in the finals to be held on October 5, 2013, in Moscow at the Krokus-Expo center as part of the Igromir 2013 expo.

ASUS Open Overclocking Cup 2013 Qualification Results

ASUS Open Overclocking Cup 2013 is the major overclocking tournament in Europe. The 12 best teams of Europe and the CIS have been selected by ASUS through qualifications. Over a 1-month period enthusiasts from European and CIS countries could submit their results in three benchmarks: 3DMark Fire Strike, Super Pi 32M and 3DMark11 Performance. The qualifications have confirmed the huge interest towards the event from the overclocker community, with 37 applications for participation from 16 country in the finals. It must be noted that most overclockers work in pairs, so the total number of participants is easily doubled.

ASUS Open Overclocking Cup 2013 Finalists

There will be 13 challengers for AOOC 2013. Perica_barii (Montenegro) and Xtreme Addict (Poland) are invited directly to the finals as the winners of ASUS Open Overclocking Cup 2012. The remaining 12 teams have been selected through the qualification process:

Aristidis and Steleras Set New 3DMark Fire Strike Record with ASUS Maximus V Extreme and ASUS GTX Titan

The Greek duo Aristidis and Steleras have become the winners of the ASUS Open Overclocking Cup 2012 qualifications, proving their reputation of recognized masters of extreme overclocking. Relying on their vast experience and excellent hardware tweaking skills, they set a new world record in 3DMark Fire Strike. Using an ASUS Maximus V Extreme mainboard and an ASUS GTX Titan graphics card overclocked to 1730/1753 MHz, they scored a record 14744 marks!

The prize fund of the ASUS Open Overclocking Cup 2013 finals is $5000. All of the participating teams will also be awarded top-end graphics cards and Intel Z87-based mainboards from ASUS.
