The Interview Transcript

wizerty overclocking

HWBOT: Hi Wizerty. Please take a moment to introduce yourself.

Wizerty: So I’m Wizerty, a French overclocker with the Klan-OC team.

HWBOT: What is your educational background?

Wizerty: I have worked as an engineer for seven years now.

HWBOT: When did you start overclocking?

Wizerty: I have been overclocking for four years, maybe five now. I started overclocking to have more frames on games. And then it felt really exciting so I started with Xyala and then went to dry ice and liquid nitrogen. And now I don’t spend a week without liquid nitrogen so…

HWBOT: What has been your greatest achievement?

Wizerty: I think my best moments in this sport are all live events. I really like this kind of erm… when you meet everybody and you meet new people, you see old friend. Things like this. I really like live events.

HWBOT: How do you see the overclocking scene today?

Wizerty: I don’t know if it’s because I reach a higher level but it’s much more complicated. When I started you just have to buy one CPU, one graphics card and you can enjoy it. No you have to bin a lot of CPUs, bin motherboards, bin VGA, bin everything and spend a lot of time tweaking to be competitive with the other guys. I think the level is really high now.

HWBOT: Where do you see overclocking in five years from now?

Wizerty: In five years, Overclocking. I don’t really know. I hope it will not be worse. I mean with really locked CPUs and locked VGA. We can see on some brands you cannot change voltage any more and some graphics cards. You ask for really special v mod. So I hope in future it will be more free, let’s say.

HWBOT: Your advice to someone just getting started?

Wizerty: For a new overclocker my advice… have fun and do your best. Keep your motivation as high as possible and you will be good someday.

HWBOT: What do you think of Taiwan?

Wizerty: Every time I come to Taiwan it’s for my hobby so I’m not sure I can be… I have a good feeling because every time I really enjoy, but I’m not sure if it’s the city or the people I meet but, I think it’s really nice to be there..
