HWBOT World Tour 2015 – Gamers Assembly, France: The Final details!

The next stop on the HWBOT World Tour 2015 is fast approaching so the time has come to share the latest updates regarding the event schedule and competition details for both World Series and World Series for Amateurs.

Schedule Update

Based on learnings and experience from the North American event last month, we’ve tweaked the schedule of the European leg to allow much smoother execution of the workshops and Amateur competitions. Check out the full schedule in the image below:

Find below the updated slides. The most noticeable changes are the start and finish times of both World Series competitions. Everything else remains unchanged.

World Series Competition Details

The World Series competition is designed for overclockers that will be attending and benching with liquid nitrogen. In order to keep things consistent across the different World Tour events, the European stop will feature the same selection of stages as were used in North America. The competition is involves three separate stages with a specific set of limitations for each.

Stage 1: SuperPI 1M Hardware Points

For this stage, the idea is to allow the broadest possible selection of hardware to compete. What matters here is that you to score the most hardware points possible with your rig. If you are having questions as for how hardware points are calculated at HWBOT, check out this post here.

Stage 2: Hit the Target

On Saturday, we will have a two hour session where the aim is to hit specific target scores on six benchmarks. Each target score will be drawn at random from a hat and will be from within the following score ranges:

  • 11 Performance -> 12,000 – 15,000
  • Fire Strike -> 7,000 – 11,000
  • Sky Diver -> 25,000 – 30,000
  • Vantage -> 45,000 – 55,000
  • Unigine Heaven Extreme -> 3,400 – 3,600
  • Catzilla 1440p -> 5,000 – 7,000

Arriving the closest to the target score will yield the most points.

Stage 3: Cinebench R15

This stage is a full out stage. Your Cinebench score will be divided by the amount of cores you’ve got on your CPU. No other limitations.

World Series for Amateurs Competition

The World Series for Amateurs is a competition designed for beginners and first time overclockers. Open to all Gamers Assembly participants, visitors as well as any overclocker from the Rookie to Enthusiasts Leagues, the World Series for Amateurs comes in combination with a workshop in which newcomers will be taught the very basics before being able to qualify.

The Workshop is about 30-45 minutes long and will run on Saturday from 11am to 8pm (with a short break around lunch time) and on Sunday from 11am to 6pm. Up to 6 overclockers can participate at a time and receive training on how to overclock your CPU and memory. The benchmark of choice here will be XTU. If you already have overclocking experience and a HWBOT account, you can go straight to the qualifier but, if this is your first time, you must complete the workshop.

The World Series for Amateurs final will be held on Sunday evening. The finals will start at 7pm and last until 9:30pm run as a series of 15min long single elimination matches.

For the Amateurs competition, systems are provided so there is no necessity to bring anything.
