Congratulations to Team EVGA for winning the first stage of the F1OC competition. Using liquid nitrogen they boosted four NVidia GeForce GTX 285 videocards in SLI to 938MHz core (+50%), 1380MHz memory speed (+10%). Together with a quad core Intel Xeon W3540 running at 5160MHz (stock speed 2933MHz), it produced a whopping 41311 3DMarks, good for a 2nd place in the world records.
The most popular videocard configuration in this stage was a couple of GeForce GTX 295‘s, both the Intel Core i7 975 as the Intel Xeon W3540 where a very popular processor. Nearly every team made use of Liquid Nitrogen to reach these spectacular speeds.
