TAIPEI, Taiwan, July 12th, 2013 — The world leading motherboard maker ASRock announced today its latest overclocking competition with HWBOT- “ASRock 8 Series OC Competition,” which will be separated into three events: CPU-Z, Super Pi 32M and memory overclocking. The participants will be competing for the highest CPU-Z, Super Pi 32M scores or ram speed submissions to HWBOT.org.

The contest starts from July 22 and runs until September 2. It is open to all overclockers with ASRock 8 series motherboards and Intel® 4th Generation CPUs. The total prize is worth more than USD $12,000 dollars and the final champion of each event will be awarded with a top prize ranging from $2,600 to $3,100 dollars value. Any entry that breaks the world record will be awarded with an additional USD $1,000 cash prize. With the grand prize and the collective effort from Intel, Kingston, Antec, Nvidia and Gainward, ASRock 8 Series OC COMPETITION will be the most anticipated OC event for global hardware enthusiasts.

The contest includes three events: CPU-Z, memory clock and Super Pi 32M. The scores will be reviewed on a bi-weekly basis and the highest/ fastest scores will be the bi-weeks winner. The participant who submits the highest/ fastest score within these six weeks will be the final champion for each group respectively. The final champions of memory clock and Super Pi 32M will be awarded with prizes worth USD $2,600 dollars respectively while the final winner of CPU-Z will be awarded with prizes worth USD $3,100 dollars.

General Contest Stage Rules

  • Competition Duration: 2013/07/22 11:00 A.M. (GMT+8) -- 2013/09/02 11:00A.M. (GMT+8)
  • The final winner will be announced at 2013/09/05 11:00 A.M. (GMT+8) on ASRock official website and HWBOT website.
  • Entry period runs from July 22, 11 A.M. (GMT+8) to September 2, 11A.M. (GMT+8), divided into three bi-weekly periods

    • A. July 22, 11 A.M. - Aug 5, 11 A.M. (GMT+8)
    • B. Aug 5, 11:01 A.M. - Aug 19 11 A.M. (GMT+8)
    • C. Aug 19, 11:01 A.M. - Sep 2 11 A.M. (GMT+8)

  • The bi-weekly winner will be announced 2013/09/05 11:00 A.M. (GMT+8) with the final result announcement.
  • Any participants breaks the world record of Intel 4th Gen CPU will be awarded with additional USD1,000
  • Must Use Intel 4th Gen CPU+ ASRock 8 series Motherboard (Z87/H87/B85)
  • Participants must add a system picture which includes motherboard, CPU cooler, memory module and power supply to the benchmark score when submit the result
  • No system sharing is allowed, every participant should use a distinct system.
  • There's no limitation on the model and brand of the VGA card.
  • Must use commercially available components. Engineering sample hardware is not allowed
  • No limit to number of entries, try as many times as you want to win!
  • Bi-weekly prizes are awarded to the highest scoring contestants during the period.
  • Each contestant is only eligible to win 1 prize. Grand prize or weekly, no repeat winners
  • If a contestant qualifies for multiple prizes, he/she will win the Grand Prize or the first bi-weekly prize he/she qualified for. The prize will be passed to the next contestants in score order who is not yet qualified to win any prizes
  • ASRock and HWBOT and the sponsors reserve the right to reject any entry
  • All the prized will be shipped to the winner within 30 days from ASRock.
  • ASRock will pay all shipping cost. Should tax liability arise, it will be the responsibility of the winner to notify its (their) own Government's relevant tax department. ASRock and any of its subsidiaries take no responsibility or liability for taxation.

    • Checksum detail

  • Super PI 32M version must be 1.5
