Benchmarking. The act of running a stress test application on your computer, and compare the output with others. As nearly every hardware manufactured nowadays supports overclocking - allowing it to run faster than factory defaults by adjusting manual settings - benchmarking your processor of videocard has grown into a sport of incredible dimensions. We try to provide a playground, the olympics of overclocking if you wish, so people can compare their overclocked system against thousands of others, in different countries, on different continents.
Check the list of supported benchmark applications, and decide whether you want to benchmark your processor, videocard, or both. Download your benchmark of choice (or even better, download them all), and launch the application. You can submit the end result online here. Better results can be achieved by overclocking... something you'll need to be good at if you want to compare well against others.
Overclocking is an art. While everyone can paint a house, only a few can paint a picasso. To get tips on how to overclock and tweak your system, join our forums, or join one of the 400 communities which participate here. If you don't know which community, taking a look in the community hall of fame is a good start.
